Port of Savannah Achieves Highest Container Traffi
Handling 8% of the U.S. containerized cargo volume and 11% of all U.S. containerized exports in 2014, The Port of Savannah continues to expand having achieved its 7th consecutive record month in September for the increase in handling containerized cargo.
Developing a pattern of volume increase every single year, the Port of Savannah reported a 7.3% upsurge over last year’s September record in handling twenty-foot equivalent container units.The double digit growth came as a surprise as ports authorities anticipated a normal pattern of operations this year. Listed as one of the Top 10 fastest growing ports in the world, the Port of Savannah continues its commitment for customer service satisfaction.
Through Georgia’s deepwater ports, new customers can definitely reach the fast-growing Southeastern U.S. market more proficiently and effectively.
